Welcome to a world of worlds

Here you will find demos of the swedish band UNICORN. Feel free to comment the demos and enjoy them. Progressive rock at it's finest. This website is dedicated to Dan Swanö and the members of Unicorn, and all the fans that couldn't hear these demos. Enjoy. All the images and mp3s were sent to me by Dan Swanö himself, back in 2003, when i uploaded all the mp3 and video files for swano.com. Back in those times i was so busy, that i could only upload the files to Dan's server. Later, he contacted another man to build his website, and the mp3s were shared, until the site shut down. I guess there's nowhere else for Unicorn fans to find these demos i'm about to share with you. I hope you like the site, and please leave a comment about unicorn or the site.

A Collection Of Worlds I (1989)

This is the first of four demos made by Unicorn. If i remember well, i once read Dan said they recorded this album by the age of 15. The production is fine for a first demo. I give this a 7/10 rating, because of the great sound achieved in this demo.

A quite rare stuff i found nowadays is that the into song, is named "Luscinia megarhynchos". I found quite odd this name, so i went to google to search for it. It results that Luscinia megarhynchos is a bird, actually a "Nightingale", the name of the band that Dan will create 6 years later by himself. Cool eh?.

This is a very good demo, lots of expression in here. Highlighted tracks: Fly Eagle, Fly; Mr. K just left the circus.

Tracklist:

  • 1. An introduction to a world of worlds (Luscinia megarhynchos)
  • 2. Times of Change
  • 3. Message from a Distant Sky
  • 4. Fly Eagle, Fly
  • 5. Dreamland
  • 6. Mr. K just left the Circus
  • 7. An outroduction from a world of worlds

Running time: 28:03
